This year's nationally acclaimed installation has now closed.
It will never be put on display again and it is expected the mosaic, made from pieces of medieval pottery, will once again be broken up and put in boxes.
The Five Sisters mosaic, inspired by the history of York and in particular the famous Five Sisters window at York Minster, won national acclaim for artists Emma Biggs and Matthew Collings.
The mosaic and painting was featured recently on the BBC's Culture Show website. Click here to see the specially made BBC film.
In the film Andrew Graham-Dixon, one of the country's foremost critics, described the piece as "absolutely fantastic."
He added: "It might seem an unlikely medium for a modern artist but yet here it is, alive and well, ancient form and medieval material tranformed by modern hands to surprising effect."
The artwork, which was inspired by the Five Sisters window at York Minster, has also gained major attention in the print media.
The highly respected national, specialist magazines Crafts and Art of England both afforded the work of art four page spreads. It has also been given substantial coverage in the local media including Metro, The York Press, The Yorkshire Post and Radio York.
